Dear Friends,

2008 marks the 25th year of my call to serve as Executive Director of this organization. At first it was called the Episcopal Radio-TV Foundation, which changed to become the Episcopal Media Center, and then through merger with the Protestant Hour/Day1, the Alliance for Christian Media emerged. It has been a privilege and an honor to serve these many years. Many changes have taken place in the world of media since 1983, but two things have not changed: This ministry continues to be the trusted voice of the mainline church in America, and we continue to exist because of your generosity.

Today more than ever, the Alliance for Christian Media needs your support. Programs like the Day1 radio broadcasts and Day1.org are concrete ways we enhance the historic message of our church. In a recent month seekers from 106 countries visited Day1.org. To strengthen this ministry, I must ask you to consider putting the Alliance for Christian Media at a higher place in your personal stewardship than you have in the past. I remind you that over half of the Alliance’s yearly budget comes from contributions like yours.

In 2008 we have before us some exciting challenges. The Protestant Hour Archives (1945 – 1995), stored at the University of Georgia, are in desperate need of restoration. We have plans to enhance and expand the Day1 internet site to make available much more text, audio and video content to facilitate the message of Christ’s redemptive love. Trust me, these opportunities can be met, but only with your help.

The Alliance for Christian Media is stronger than ever. We are blessed with an outstanding Board of Trustees, a talented and dedicated staff, and a cadre of volunteers who work daily to help spread the Good News.

Over my 25 years as the leader of the Alliance I have been awed by your faithfulness in supporting our important cause. This year we are working hard to increase the money we raise. I count on you to help us. Please prayerfully consider increasing your donation.
